901 Fund & City of Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland Partnership

901 Fund and Mayor Jim Strickland of the City of Memphis created a campaign to increase attendance and awareness of Safe Summer events in June/July. Safe Summer presented by Mayor Jim Strickland was created to entertain local families with free activities every Friday in June and July. 901 Fund organized three rounds of social post and appearances for the student-athletes, promoting their appearance at the event during the week. The players had an amazing time playing sports with children and giving back to the community. Commercial Appeal covered the event and here is what UofM wide receiver Javon Ivory said about his experience at Safe Summer,

“It’s good to connect our sports life into being able to come into the community and just really take our minds off football,” Ivory said. “You always want to have somebody you can look up to and just take that memory home.”

Jamirah Shutes stated she also enjoyed giving back and how 901 Fund is purpose driven NIL, “I like it because it’s something different,” she said. “I’m not just trying to get other people to buy somebody else’s brand. It’s fun being able to give back.”
